Shock-rock sensations, GWAR, annihilated Edmonton on Wednesday night with a whole new stage show full of gore, giggles and everything in between. Accompanied by the likes of Detroit's own thrash-masters, Battlecross, and fellow Canadian's from Montreal, Cryptopsy, this gig was off the hook!
I have anticipated going to a GWAR show for some time now. The rumors of fake blood and other bodily fluids being sprayed on the crowd, mixed with various stage characters in impressive costumes sparked my interest for not only seeing what they're all about, but catching them doing their thing in front of my lens as well.
Though proving to be entertaining, it's hard to put into words what a GWAR show is like. It's something that you need to experience first hand in order to understand what exactly is going on. Between getting totally drenched by blood and other liquids, and seeing the crowds reaction to the madness on stage, GWAR put on a stellar performance that not only I, but everyone at Union Hall on Wednesday night wont soon forget!
